HHFR: A new architecture for mobile Web Services

We developed a new software architecture designed for optimized and expandable communication in mobile Web Services - the Handheld Flexible Representation (HHFR). HHFR separates the message contents from a SOAP message. Message contents are XML information item data and the SOAP message ‘itself’ is in the XML syntax. Two service nodes participating in HHFR exchange message contents in an optimized fashion. The benchmark results show the performance advantage of using the architecture when a session composes a sequence of messages.

For Context-store, WS-Context service implementation of CGL is used.

The HHFR is being developed by Sangyoon Oh under close supervision of Prof. Dr. Geoffrey C. Fox. For information or queries pertaining to HHFR you can mail us at (ohsangy at indiana edu and gcf at indiana edu).
